Method and means for breeding and balancing bee populations and for fighting Varroa injection

An installation for breeding worker bees and for keeping queen bees has individual hives arranged at a distance from one another and interconnected via bypass ducts, the bypass duct being multiply deflected. The plastic cells of the installation have different dimensions within a honeycomb, i.e. different opening and bottom diameters, and the plastic combs have in each case a plurality of queen cells. For eliminating the Varroa mite in bee combs, there are arranged between the brood combs of plastic or wax catching combs, the cell dimensions of which correspond approximately to those of drone cells. The catching combs are arranged at a distance from a grid, through which the worker bees can crawl, but the queen cannot. In this arrangement, the space between catching comb and catching grid is closed. IMAGE
