Coating slurry containing talc and calcium carbonate, method of producing it and its use

A CaCO3 talc coating pigment slurry consists of the following four cover-ground components: a. 24-64% by weight CaCO3, b. 5 - 48% by weight talc, c. 20 - 40 wt% H2O and d. an excipient combination of 0.05-1.4% by weight of commercially available grinding aids and 0.05-1.2% by weight of commercially available dispersing agent, the pigment mixture having an average statistical particle diameter of 0.4 μm to 1.5 μm. This coating pigment slurry can be used particularly advantageously for the production of a coating slip for gravure printing papers.
