Device for locating and destroying objects (19) inside the body by means of ultrasound, consisting of a transducer (1) operated by a pulse generator (3) and generating focused shock-waves, which can be transmitted via a coupling medium to the body of the patient, and of a locating system connected to the transducer (1) and providing an image. The locating system comprises at least one monitor as a display device, on whose screen the object (19) and a target cross (7) can be visualised. A signal level corresponding to the brightness value of the imaged object and obtained from the video signal of the imaging system can be established as a desired value, and a selected target area encompassing the object can be scanned automatically by displacement of the transducer (1).
