Device for register correction of the overprinting of sheets in a rotary sheet-fed press

The device is intended for register correction of the overprinting of sheets or, alternatively, for the compensation of misaligned sheets in a rotary sheet-fed press by deforming the leading edge of the sheet before the printing unit. It consists of an adjustable bending apparatus which bends a support for adjacently arranged sheet grippers in the operating cycle of the machine, said support extending transversely to the running direction of the sheet. This bending apparatus is effective on an auxiliary gripper carrying out oscillating movements about a stationary axis having a gripper bridge (8) forming the support for the sheet grippers (20) and being supported on a gripper bridge shaft (10) at least at its two ends by means of rigid levers (9) and it consists of at least one adjustable stop (12, 21), which is fixed in relation to the machine frame and against which the gripper bridge (8) comes to rest approximately centrally between the levers (9) at the ends of the gripper bridge before the ends of the gripper bridge have reached their zero position, when they are swivelled back, in which the sheet grippers (20) take over the sheet (1).
