According to the invention, the gyroscopic system is noteworthy in that: .at least in the vicinity of the plane defined by the axes (Y-Y' and X-X') of the primary (3) and secondary (4) frames, the top (2) is spherical (at 2A); .the spherical portion (2A) of the top (2) carries at least one set (22) of parallel lines (21), of different length, parallel to the axis of rotation (Z-Z') of the top (2); .an opto-electronic detector (13), integral with the casing (1), counts the number of lines (21) during the rotation of the top (2).
