In order to be able to use a railway fleet car which is of lightweight and economical design universally within a train configuration both as an end car and as a central car, it being possible for a customary UIC coupling interface to be made available as required at each end of the car, the end regions of the underframe (1) are of identical design without permanently connected buffer brackets and a receptacle bearing (2) is arranged in each end region of the underframe (1) at the same distance from the end side in the vertical longitudinal centre plane, by means of which receptacle bearing (2) either a coupling rod (3) or a buffer bracket (4) with draw and buffer gear (5) can be releasably attached to the underframe (1) and supported therewith.
