STORAGE-STABLE CONTACT ADHESIVE BASED ON AN AQUEOUS POLYURETHANE DISPERSION OR SOLUTION

A storage-stable contact adhesive based on an aqueous dispersion or solution of a cationically modified, alkoxysilane-terminated polyurethane may be prepared by using the following basic components: isocyanate with functionality higher than 1, polyol, a tertiary amine compound with at least one group reactive to isocyanates in such a concentration that the polyurethane may be soluble or dispersible in water after being neutralized with acids, and alkoxysilane. Compared with known contact adhesives based on an aqueous dispersion, this new contact adhesive has improved heat, initial, final and water resistances.
