Container (1) to hold domestic and garden rubbish for rotting into a compost, is double-walled, composed of vertically stacked truncated pyramids (3, 4). The filling-opening is covred by hatch lids (6, 7). Air acts as the insulation medium between the double walls of the wall units (19) making up the system.
