A method for the analysis of sample liquids and suspensions having clinical relevance, in which infrared spectra of the dried samples are recorded and the spectra are evaluated using a multivariate evaluation method. The samples to be analysed are assigned classes by the evaluation method. The evaluation method is taught using samples of known classes, in order to fit parameters of the evaluation method such that it is possible to assign samples of unknown classification to known classes. The infrared spectra can advantageously be recorded by a transmission measurement on a dried film of the sample. IMAGE
