Azo- or stilbene dyestuff groups and urethane groups containing polyadduct and its utilization in nonlinear optics

The invention relates to polyadducts containing azo or stilbene dye groups and urethane groups and comprising (a) at least one organic polyisocyanate, (b) at least one organic compound containing two NCO-reactive groups which has a mean molecular weight Mn of up to 500 g/mol, (c) at least one organic compound containing azo or stilbene dye groups and at least two NCO-reactive groups, other than (b), and optionally (d) one or more polyhydroxyl compounds having mean molecular weights Mn of from 500 to 5000 g/mol, where the ratio between the number of NCO groups in component (a) and the total number of NCO-reactive groups in components (b), (c) and (d) is from 2:1 to 1:2. These polyadducts are suitable for applications in non-linear optics.
