Blends of polyethersulfones with aromatic polyimides, polyamides or polyamide-imides and gas separation membranes made therefrom

The present invention provides a three-component blend of (i) an aromatic polyethersulfone, (ii) an aromatic polyimide, and (iii) an alkyl-substituted aromatic polyimide, polyamide or polyamide-imide or mixtures thereof. The invention also provides for gas separation membranes with superior gas transport properties made from two-and-three-component blends of polyethersulfone with aromatic polyimides to provide a gas separation membrane with superior productivity and good selectivity.
