Burner head for a burner, comprising a rod or a tube (5) wound to define an internally hollow tubular surface (3, 9) having passages (25) arranged between two successive windings, the said surface being closed at one axial end (11) and open at the other (13), in order to communicate with means (17, 19) for supplying an inflammable mixture; and ignition means (29) for igniting the mixture emerging via the said passages (25), in such a way that the flames are held along at least a part of the tubular surface.
