The mounting block has a fixing unit (1) secured in a body (4) and engaging with the equipment. A mounting for the equipment (5) engages with the fixing unit via sound-insulating devices (3). Where fans or roller-shutters are to be accommodated, the fixing unit can consist of a housing or frame open to the front and positively secured in the body (4). The mounting (2) can be inside and clear of the latter. A damping plate (3) can be mounted on the inside of the fixing unit and on its rear wall at least. Openings can also be provided in the housing wall and through which air outlet pipes pass which are not in contact with the wall.
