The present invention discloses an apparatus for opening and closing a protective cover of a digital compact cassette. To this end, the present invention comprises a lever member 5 rotatable to open a protective lid 20 when a digital compact cassette is inserted into a storage unit. The lever member (5) engages with the endless belt (40) during rotation and is stably rotationally guided. The present invention eliminates the need for the user to directly open the protective cover.
