METHOD OF DETERMINATION AND MAPPING OF EFFECTIVE POROSITY OF ROCKS

FIELD: geophysical prospecting. SUBSTANCE: effective porosity over examined area is determined by detection of intensity of mega-jointing with the aid of remote methods, special sample taking, measurement of effective porosity in samples, plotting of standard graphs "intensity of mega-jointing - effective porosity", extrapolation of estimates of effective porosity from these graphs to any points with use of information on types of rocks and intensity of mega-jointing in these points. Drawing of maps of effective porosity is performed in the same way and is achieved by transformation of geological and litho-facial maps and maps of intensity of mega-jointing into maps of effective porosity with the use of mentioned standard graphs.
