The present invention relates to a process for adjusting the operating point of a fibre-optic microbend sensor, comprising: - a first phase consisting of a pretreatment of the optical fibre before being mechanised, - a second phase consisting in coating the said optical fibre with a metal layer, during which the said optical fibre undergoes a constant traction making it possible to fix the maximum attenuation operating point to a specified value, and - a third phase, consisting in producing the said periodic surface discontinuities along the said fibre.
