The invention concerns a winch control with seaway follower device, with a variable-volume hydrostatic engine serving as the drive, that can be switched to a reduced torque and seaway following speed for seaway follower operation. The speed and position control of the driving engine is done by means of an electrical circuit configuration. By combining different electrically generated signals, a control circuit automatically performs the switchover from normal operation to seaway following and vice versa. IMAGE
