The composite window forms a sunshade and uses the solar energy collected, and comprises two or more chambers (10) between translucent panes (1) of glass or plastics. The panes are inserted in a frame (2) and held apart by distance-pieces (3), the chambers being completely or partly filled with liquid from a storage tank (8). A pump (5) circulates the liquid (4) through a heat-exchanger (6). A large number of distance-pieces are mounted at intervals in the chambers, their cross-section allowing flow to take place through them. ADVANTAGE - Brightness and heat-absorption are variable as desired, and makes good use of heat absorbed for room-heating etc.
