Triaxial ring laser gyroscope (gyro) with distributed amplification

A triaxial multi-oscillator for operation in accordance with an operation mode which requires superposition of an essentially uniform axial magnetic field on the amplification range of each laser cavity, contains an integral frame of glass-ceramic material, having twelve faces which are in each case rhombic, and contains three closed laser cavities which in each case consist of four straight segments. The cavities contain three mutually parallel segments, respectively one for each cavity, which are arranged at regular intervals on a circle perpendicular to the axis of the frame. An inner cathode and six anodes are assigned to the frame, in order to produce amplification in each of the three segments. The frame is positioned inside a closed cylindrical soft-iron element by means of a fastening system. The fastening system holds magnets next to the upper and lower ends of the element, in order to produce parallel magnetic flux lines therein. The frame is arranged inside the container in such a way that the cavity segments which contain the three amplification regions, are aligned with the parallel flux lines, in order to produce the required axial fields in the three amplification regions.
