Flow limiter (10), having a differential pressure transmitter (12) and a differential pressure regulator (14) in a common housing (11), which influence the effective passage cross-section between a supply (16) having the pressure p1 and a discharge (18) having the pressure p2. The throttling element, which can be adjusted manually or by an actuator, for example by an electric motor, of the differential pressure transmitter part (12) is constructed in two parts and comprises, on a common valve stem (30), a cone (32) which is arranged loosely thereon and determines the cross-section of the differential pressure transmitter and an auxiliary cone (33) which is seated in a fixed position on the valve stem. The loose main cone (32) is held in contact with the auxiliary cone (33) via a spring (35) which is supported on a stop (36) of the valve stem (30). A bore (37) in the cone (32), which consequently forms the seat of the auxiliary valve, connects the upstream side of the cone (32) to the downstream side if the setting forces on the valve stem (30) are too small to lift the cone (32) from the seat; cf. drawing.
