The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for utilising geothermal energy for heating purposes and/or water heating. The technical problem of the invention is to utilise the geothermal energy from rocks whose geothermal gradient reaches superproportional values. This is achieved in that neutral cold water is passed in by means of a double-tube string introduced into a deep borehole, the water being heated in accordance with the three-dimensional equation of thermal state.
