For decentralised transfer of heavy freight units in combined road/rail freight traffic various variants of vehicle-bound loading technology are known which are based on the side loader principle, the interchangeable frame principle and/or the displacement principle. These have the disadvantage of being too heavy themselves or not having sufficient manoeuvrability in the loading approach area of track systems and/or in the absence of the possibility of setting the load at the level of a carriageway. The transfer takes place by equalising the loading level in several loading stages, inserting the bridge frame into the loading track and alternately displacing the load and the bridge frame laterally with the aid of the interchangeable running gear.
