The invention relates to methods and devices for crack detection in tensile steel members at risk of stress-crack corrosion in prestressed concrete constructions, in particular with immediate or subsequent connection, which are characterised in that the tensile steel is first strongly magnetised and the stray magnetic fields occurring at the cracks are registered via time integration by a magnetic tape which is applied to the concrete construction externally parallel to the extent of the tensioning member, and are detected by a reading instrument after removal of the tape.
