The hydraulic block unit for the alternate operation of hydraulic implements, especially a dipper-ladle (shovel) piston cylinder (1) or a grab piston cylinder (2) on an excavator has a rectangular block housing (2), the flat bottom surface (3) of which has a sealable mouth (24) which can be flanged to an implement. Accommodated in the block housing is a ball valve, the ball (30) of which can be adjusted by means of an operating shaft (40) into at least two positions. Openings (21, 22) for the hydraulic working lines (A, B) are provided on the flat side walls (4, 5) of the block housing (2). The ball (30) is passed through by holes (20, 23) which, in one position, are in alignment with openings in the housing (2) and are shut off in another position of the ball. The ball (30) is sealed off from the housing (2) by sealing rings (36, 37), the planes of which are arranged parallel to one another. Holes (10, 11, 12, 13) for fastening screws (14, 15, 16, 17) arranged in accordance with the SAE standard lead through the housing (2). These holes run perpendicular to the base surface and are arranged around the ball (30). The holes (31, 32) through the ball (30) are arranged in a T or L shape. The operating shaft (40) is passed outwards in a manner which allows it to rotate about its longitudinal axis at one of the ends (6, 7) of the block housing (2), between holes (10, 12 or 11, 13) with the smaller spacings.
