Sports, fitness and body-building apparatuses frequently comprise operating parts which are used to transmit the human forces and/or moments to the machine. Since the known devices which are described as operating parts are rigid, their use leads to non-physiological movement sequences on the part of the person exercising and damage to the joints and parts of the muscles. In order to avoid this, an articulated device (12) is arranged in each case between a gripping device (24) and a force transmission piece (11). The schematically indicated person, who holds the handles (26) of the two gripping devices (24) with both hands, can execute a physiological movement from position (75) into position (74): the distance apart of the hands can be varied during the movement and a twisting/pivoting movement is possible.
