The object of the invention was to propose a device of this type which has a simpler design and higher reliability in relation to the state of the art. According to the invention, the conveyor band is assigned means which monitor its position in the direction of transport. An information memory stores the depositing of the cross-wound bobbins on the conveyor band by a change device, with the depositing point being assigned. The means for monitoring the position of the conveyor band and the information memory are connected to a comparator device which compares the correspondence between the depositing point and the position of the conveyor band in the region of the point where the cross-wound bobbins are taken off from the conveyor band. A sorted take-off of cross-wound bobbins from the conveyor band is guaranteed in this way, even when cross-wound bobbins of different batches are deposited on this conveyor band. Moreover, incorrect occupancies of the band, which can occur, for example, after the extraction of cross-wound bobbins by hand, can be detected. IMAGE
