The 3-part combination has a microphone, a speech module and a minicomputer within the telephone handset, allowing numbers entered in spoken format to be converted into the required format for call selection. The telephone handset, the telephone answering machine and the city call device are coupled together by separation interfaces, allowing separation of the individual components. The handset may be provided as a radio telephone device.
