The sifting method involves using a wind sifter (3) with a sifting rotor (5). The initial material is dispersed in the sifting space (6) and then sifted. The fine and coarse material leave the sifter separately. The incoming material goes into a dispersion device in which it repeatedly hits deflecting surfaces and is thoroughly dispersed. The material then goes on into the sifting space where sifting air rushes through it, keeping it practically free of turbulence. The sifting air sent to the wind sifter is accelerated as it passes through the cells of a cellular rotor (4).
