The electrical connector comprises guide faces (30,30') for the terminals of a mating connector. The body of the connector supports a flexible latch (7) for each of its terminals B, and provides access for the insertion of latch locking fingers (21) from the front end via mating terminal insertion apertures that are only partly bounded by terminal guide surfaces (30) of the body. Further guide surfaces (30') are provided by the locking finger support (C) or another front member. The support (C) includes latches (23,25) for mating with body parts in pre and post-locking positions and provides for each latch (7) a latch release tool insertion aperture. A cover plate (G) for a rear end seal includes apertures each having a groove (15a) to receive a terminal projection for terminal orientation. A member (E) cooperates with a latch (18a) for the body of the mating connector, to indicate complete mating of the connectors.
