The dockboard is provided with lateral toe guards which consist of a rectangular or trapezoidal profile (6) secured at the front platform part, preferably in a detachable manner, a triangular or trapezoidal profile (16) adjoining the profile (6) optionally at the rear, and a triangular profile (10) which can be rotated about a shaft (9) situated at the rear, lower end of the rectangular/trapezoidal profile (16). The rotatable profile (10) and the rectangular profile (6) have arrangements (8, 11) which permit a secure connection of the rotatable profile to the rectangular profile when the rotatable profile (10) has been swung fully downwards. The construction also makes it possible to arrange easily replaceable linings between the bridge platform and the profiles secured thereon.
