Compounds of structure (I) CHEM in which the dotted lines indicate the optional presence of a double bond, X1, X2 and X3 are H, halogen, CF3, C1-6alkyl, C1-6alkoxy, CN, NO2, N(R1)2, CHO or CO2R1; R1 is H or C1-8alkyl and R is hydrogen, hydroxy or acetoxy; processes for their preparation, compositions containing them and their use in medicine as inhibitors of 5- alpha -reductase.
