Positive inotropic and lusitropic 3,5-dihydroimidazo[2,1-b]quinazolin-2(1H)-one derivatives of formula CHEM the pharmaceutically acceptable addition salts and stereochemically isomeric forms thereof, wherein R is hydrogen, C1-6alkyl, phenyl; substituted phenyl; pyridinyl; or thienyl optionally substituted with halo or C1-6alkyl; R1 is hydrogen of C1-6alkyl; R2 is hydrogen, C1-6alkyl, hydroxyC1-6alkyl or phenyl; or R1 and R2 taken together may also form a C1-5alkanediyl radical; X is a radical of formula =O (a), =N-O-R3 (b),or =CH-R4 (c); R3 is hydrogen, tri(C1-6alkyl)silyl or C1-6alkyl optionally substituted with COOH, COOC1-4alkyl, CONR5R6 or COOCH2CONR7R8; R4 is COOH, COOC1-4alkyl, CONR5R6, COOCH2CONR7R8 or C1-6alkyl optionally substituted with COOH, COOC1-4alkyl, CONR5R6 or COOCH2CONR7R8.
