Immunometric assay of lipoprotein particles contg. apolipoprotein B (apoB) and at least one other apolipoprotein (apo) in a biological fluid comprises reacting with 2 antibodies; as particle-capturing antibody (Ab1) whichreacts with a complete apo or with a specific fragment or epitope of apoB, and as detector (Ab2) a labelled, complete anti-apoB which allows detection of the particles esp. by enzyme- or radio-immunoassay, agglutination or fluorimetry. Also new are monoclonal antibodies specific for apo(a) with dissociation constant 8.7-32 pM. Pref. Ab1 is an anti(apoAI, apoAII, apoCIII, apoE or apo(a)) antibody and is immobilised on a solid support eg. microtitre plate or bead. Both antibodies are poly-, mono- or digo-clonal.
