The kettle has a removable lid (2) and a removable handle (3). A pivoting lever (4) is held in a groove (7) in the handle and, when one end (4a) is pressed by the user, the other end (4b) presses on the top of the lid to keep it closed. The lever pivots on an axle (5) in the groove and its end which is pressed projects through an opening. It is pushed outwards by a spring (6), allowing the lid to be opened.
