Installation of cryosurgery of biological tissues.

The installation has a cryoprobe (1) which has in its head a central ultrasonic transducer (4) with a focal length of 1 cm or less, emitting at a centre frequency between about 15 and 25 MHz controlled by a pulse generator (5).The echo from the front of the frozen tissue region is analysed (6) and displayed (7) with a resolution of the order of 100 microns. The supply of liq. N2 or N20 from a source (2) can be controlled (3) easily by one hand of the operator.
