Single- or multi-seat, wheeled appts., their components and their accessories, such as wheelbarrows, trolleys, bicycles, velocipedes, tricycles, motorcycles, quadricycles, town or all-terrain vehicles, powered by electrical, thermal or muscle power, esp. chassis, frames, wheel rims, spokes, stays, hubs, axles, saddle tubes, handle-bars, cranks, chains, cables, pipe joints and screw connectors, are claimed.The novelty is that the above equipment is made of a stainless steel contg. 0.005-0.35% C, 12-27% Cr, 0.1-20% Ni, 0.1-5% Mo, 0.1-9% Mn, 0.1-1.5% Si, 0.1-4% Cu, 0.1-2% Al, 0.005-2% Ti, 0.005-1% Nb, 0.005-1% Ta, 0.005-0.5% N and other elements depending on the refining process.The steel may be (a) a martensitic stainless steel contg. 0.15-0.35% C, 13-15% Cr, 0.1-4% Ni and 0.1-4% Mo which has been subjected to a spheroidising anneal at 875-925 deg.C, cold worked and shaped and then hardened by soln. treatment at 925-950 deg.C, quenching and tempering at 300-600 deg.C; (b) a martensitic, maraging or semi-austenitic stainless steel contg. 0.01-0.15% C, 12-18% Cr, 3.5-9% Ni, 0.1-3% Mo, 0.1-4% Cu, 0.1-2% Al, 0.005-2% Ti, 0.005-1% Nb and 0.005-0.15% N, which has been soln. treated after cold work hardening and which is pptn. hardenable; (c) an austenitic stainless steel contg. 0.01-0.10% C, 15-26% Cr, 6-20% Ni, 0.1-5% Mo, 0.1-9% Mn, 0.1-1% Cu, 0.1-2% Al, 0.005-1% Ti, Nb and Ta and 0.005-0.5% N, which has been work hardened; or (d) an austenitic-ferritic steel contg. 0.005-0.10% C, 22-27% Cr, 2.5-7% Ni, 0.1-4% Mo, 0.1-7% Mn, 0.1-2% Cu and 0.005-0.25% N, which has been work hardened.
