Sand concrete of high tensile strength consisting of an agglomerate of fine sand particles joined by a hydraulic binder based on cement and especially Portland cement, sand concrete characterised in that it includes approximately, in quantity by weight and per 100 kg of cement, 350 to 400 kg of a very fine sand of essentially uniform particle size and containing no fines, 8 to 30 kg of fines in particular of silicic fines and 5 to 7 kg of a polymer which is in the form of a very fine powder of particle size preferably smaller than 100 mesh, the weight ratio E/(C + F) in which E denotes the quantity of water, C the quantity of cement and F the quantity of fines, being between 0.20 and 0.35.
