A container (1) is arranged so as to receive letters (12) from a box (11) in which these letters are arranged in landscape format. The container (1) can be pivoted so as to allow the letters (12), initially arranged in portrait format in this container, to be placed on a working plane (3), with their edges level along two alignment references.
