The invention relates to a façade system for making façades of the curtain type or walls cladding a first wall, comprising horizontal battens (4) having an upper face (4a) and a lower face (4b) both of which are flat and each of which is provided with a longitudinal rib (14, 15), facing slabs (5, 6) exhibiting an upper edge and a lower edge which are provided with longitudinal grooves (16, 17) able to accommodate the ribs (14, 15) of the battens (4), the said slabs having a height designed to allow them to be fitted by opening between two battens (4) so that they come to rest on the said battens via their lower edge, and flexible strips (20, 21) inserted in the grooves (16, 17) of the slabs (5, 6) so as to immobilise the latter with respect to the battens (4).
