Each shoe is made with a motif on its outer surface and on the inner side of the leg near the heel, in the form of lips (1,2) which symbolise a kiss when the shoes are put on correctly. The lips can be printed on the shoe or made separately and fixed to the shoes by press studs or fixed to the straps of sandals. The lips can be made in leather, suede, fabric, plastics or metal, and can be bonded or stitched to the shoes.
