A tremolo guitar bridge (1) including a plate (9) pivotably mounted about a transverse pivot axis relative to a supporting assembly (7) secured to the body (2) of the guitar, and an actuating member (12) for imparting pivotal torque to the plate (9) when it is actuated. Said bridge comprises a mechanism (11) for returning the plate (9) to and/or stabilising it in a neutral position regardless of the non-zero value of the total force imparted to the plate (9) by the tension of the strings (3), in which position the moment about the transverse pivot axis of the total force imparted to the plate (9) by the tension of the strings (3) is zero or counterbalanced. Said returning and/or stabilising mechanism (11) is designed to enable pivotal movement of the plate (9) away from said neutral position when the user actuates the actuating member (12). A guitar provided with said bridge (1) is also disclosed.
