Variable load support e.g. for microwave waveguide

The support (3) has an elongated, flexible, plastic body with a cross-section which has the same dimensions as the cross-section of the waveguide. The longitudinal axis is aligned with the end of an attached load and alternate first and second peripheral portions are positioned along the length. The first portions have larger external surfaces than the second. The first portions can be elastically deformed to secure the positioning of the coaxial support and the load on the waveguide. The first sections are made flexible by grooves (12) which extend underneath.There are four alternate sections and the grooves lie orthogonally. Longitudinally, the support is cut into independently deformable segments by transverse grooves (15) which are a quarter-wavelength apart and of depth equal to about half the radius of the overall cylindrical shape. A conical load (2) is mounted on a threaded axle (4) through the support.
