A wood-preservative belt 1 comprising a first flexible sheet 2, a wood-preservative material 3 and a second flexible sheet 4, made of a microporous or microperforated material, is useful in the ground line treatment of a wooden pole 5 comprising the following steps: (1) attaching the wood-preservative belt to the pole with the second flexible sheet in contact with the pole; and (2) applying a sufficient pressure to the first flexible sheet so as to cause the wood-preservative material to pass through the second flexible sheet and thereby contact and treat the wooden pole.
