A method of analysing Ventricular Late Potential (VLP) includes determining a parameter related to the complexity of the VLP as a parameter for clinical evaluation. The method may include computing the fractal dimension of the attractor for the VLP as a parameter for clinical evaluation e.g. from a trace formed in 3-D space by the time-varying vector produced by combining the ECG signals from pairs of X, Y, and Z electrodes on the torso. The method may include performing a spectral analysis producing an assessment based on a discrete Hartley transform (DHT) vector spectrum by summing amplitude components between -f1 to -f2 and +f2 to +f1, where f1 is a number larger than f2.
