The method according to the invention for the calculation of the cross-connection configuration in a time-space-time (T-S-T) is based on the fact that the examined data streams are divided into defined periods. Within a period the connection matrix (31) is generated by the calculator (32) for each time slot, so that first a suitable space switch output is found, and then a signal of such an input time switch is selected, which can be connected to the selected output.
