Minimising effect of quantisation errors in phase angle determination.

In a SECAM television system, errors in determining a phase angle in the demodulation of colour difference signals U and V are reduced by first identifying the quadrant or sector containing the signal and then transforming U and V values into a region of minimum quantisation error.
