Protecting vessels from corrosion using sacrificial anodes to carry impressed current

A control system allows a conventional cathodic protection system to be used in differing electrolytic or other conditions by using active sacrificial anodes to carry a variable impressed current. Active sacrificial Anodes 3 are normally connected to vessel or Structure 1 which is immersed in Electrolyte 2 and when necessary additional current is impressed on the circuit e.g. by Switch 4 Power Source 5 and Voltage Stabiliser 6.
