Use of bone morphogenetic protein in synergistic combination with TGF-. beta. for bone repair

Bone morphogenetic proteins -2 and -3 (BMPs -2 and -3) work in synergistic combination with TGF-z to provide compositions with increased osteogenic activity. Methods of treating bone defects, inducing bone growth and increasing bone marrow cell production using these compositions are also disclosed.
