PURPOSE: To provide the operation technology of the genetic algorithm which takes a superior individual body of an optional generation to a next generation, dynamically controls the succession of the individual body, and speedily obtain an optimum solution without staying at a local solution. ;CONSTITUTION: This is an operating device for genetic algorithm which uses an SIMD type parallel computers including plural process elements and a control system which controls the process elements through the same instruction bus; and an individual body which satisfies a reference value is recognized (209-211) and when it is an elite individual body which is considered to be superior in the optional generation and taken over to the next generation (206), generation numbers which are successively present are stored (208 and 211). A permissible reference for the generation numbers is dynamically calculated (212) and elite individual bodies having generation numbers exceeding the permissible reference are excluded from elite individual bodies and suppressed (213), and consequently the number of elite individual bodies in the group is controlled.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
