PURPOSE: To stably produce a crystalline spinel type LiMn2 O4 large in specific surface area without causing defective crystals by microscopically homogeneously mixing powdery raw materials with each other. CONSTITUTION: This method for producing crystalline spinel type LiMn2 O4 comprises dissolving a lithium salt and a manganese salt in water, adding a sodium carbonate aqueous solution to the obtained mixture aqueous solution, and subsequently calcining the obtained coprecipitate powder comprising Li2 CO3 and MnCO3 .
